Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and felt like you were talking different languages? Or have you had an employee who seemed like they were the “wrong person for the job?” When we don’t understand, we tend to misunderstand and that can lead to conflict at home, in the workplace and in our community. The DISC Model of Human Behavior is a scientific, psychology-based method of determining personality types that helps us to not only understand ourselves and how we are wired, but others as well.

When people are doing hiring, it can be difficult sometimes to ascertain whether the person “fits” the job. If the employer can better understand the personality style of the person they are interviewing, it can save them valuable time and money training someone that shouldn’t have been hired in the first place. Additionally, company culture is the reason people stay loyal to an employer. Learning how to understand personality styles of employees can help the employer know how to create a company culture that addresses each of the styles.

In this session, participants will:

  • Get a basic overview of the DISC Model of Human Behavior
  • Find out the two questions to ask in determining someone’s dominant personality style.
  • Learn how you can incorporate the DISC assessment in hiring practices.

This training has been delivered to the Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce, the Legal Marketing Association in San Francisco, and Toastmasters.
